3 steps to maintain weight during the holidays

maintain weight holidays

Don`t gain weight! 3 words you often hear people scream during the month of December. It’s understandable since December is the hardest month for weight loss. Therefore, we’ve created 3 steps for you so you won’t need to worry about gaining weight during the holidays. You’ll be able to enjoy all of the tasty food but not feel guilty when January rolls around. You’ll be happy not only during the holidays, but also after. Why? Because you owe it to yourself!

Step 1 – Make sure you have a good breakfast

A good breakfast during the holidays is very important. It makes you feel satiated for a longer time and ensures you won’t grab sweet treats during a coffee break or a salty treat when at a bar. Make breakfast extra special! For example, prepare a healthy banana cake or a fancy omelet for yourself.

Stap 2 – Maintain your healthy routine

Gaining weight during the holidays doesn’t only happen because you eat more than usual but also because you break your normal routine. You skip your fitness classes and your normally-structured food plan gets switched for a lot of dessert. Try to keep up with your regular food and fitness routine as much as possible. You workout 3 times a week? Continue doing this during the holidays. If the gym is closed during the holidays, think of a different way to get your movement in. Go out into nature, for example, or do a workout at home. Also, keep structured with your BodieBoost menu (breakfast, lunch, dinner and some snacks) so you won’t end up snacking.

Step 3 – Relax and take a rest

Make sure that you take enough time to rest and relax during the holidays. When you feel tense, your quality of sleep worsens. Too little sleep causes you to feel hungry the next day. You’ll want to prevent this! Deal with the holiday month December in a healthy and relaxed way. Get enough sleep and plan some time for relaxation.

Bonus tip – Never enter a dinner party feeling hungry

When you go to a dinner party feeling very hungry, you will most likely overeat. Therefore, make sure that you eat something light but nourishing beforehand. A boiled egg, a bowl of yoghurt or a rice cake with chicken fillet and some veggies can help you avoid overeating.

Hopefully you can use these tips. Don’t forget: enjoy delicious food and make your holidays unforgettable. Do what feels good for you – that is truly important!
