Healthy easy on the go snacks are a must-have nowadays. These days we are so busy juggling school, studies, a family, posting pics of our cats on social media, eighty different hobbies we MUST make time for, that we easily forget to take care of our bodies. Yeap, life ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. Because of this reason healthy on the go snacks are essential. No worries, we know you’re familiar with the typical snacks like bananas, crackers, nuts, etc. This time we will go for something different. Today we will show you six healthy and easy on the go snacks you didn’t think of before! Here we go!

Roasted chickpeas

When you’re on the go, it can be difficult to eat two times the ‘family’ proteins since it’s hard to take for example meat, tofu or tempé with you. Therefore roasted chickpeas are a perfect solution. You can buy chickpeas in any grocery shop. Besides that, they are easy to prepare.

Tip: dip the chickpeas in a mixture of olive oil, sea salt, curry and garlic powder before placing in the oven.

Popcorn can be a healthy snack as long as you don’t add anything unhealthy like too much salt or melted butter. Apart from that, it’s a great snack when you find it difficult to eat only ‘a hand’ of something. You can eat lots of it without gaining weight. Besides that, the snack is not only light in calories but also in weight 😉 Perfect for when you’re on the go!

Roasted Edamame beans

Just like the roasted chickpeas, roasted edamame beans are a perfect source of protein for on the go. It’s easy to prepare, and you can variate endlessly by using different seasonings.

Veggie/fruit smoothie

When we think about a snack on the go, we often tend to think about food. However, a smoothie can also be very filling and contains tons of nutrients. My (Char) favorite smoothie is: spinach, banana, milk, (you can also use almond milk or soy milk) nut smoothie. Super healthy, energizing and a the same time a bit sweet as well because of the banana. Perfection!

Home baked veggie chips

When we think about a vegetables, we often tend to think about salads, raw broccoli, etc… Well, I have to admit if that would be the only way to get my daily veggies I would also have to give up;) There are many creative ways to get your veggies tough, luckily! As we said before, you can make a veggie smoothie, but another way to get your veggies is to prepare vegetable chips! Also with veggie chips, you can variate endlessly. You can use as many different veggies you want and can use any seasoning you like. This way it never get’s boring.

Banana bread

This takes a bit longer to prepare, but you can save it for the whole week. It’s great for when you want to eat something sweet but don’t want to use your ‘joker’.
