Healthy joker: oatmeal cookies

Easy! Those oat cookies, granola bites, and other ‘healthy’ products. They are tasty for sure, but are they truly healthy? Unfortunately, the answer is no (believe me (Charlotte), the first time we heard this we cried as well;) ) Readymade grain cookies and bars are often stuffed with refined sugars and processed products. Oh boy, then you think you’re treating your body well… Anyways, for every challenge, there is a solution. In those 7 days of the week, you can definitely find 30 minutes to prepare something by yourself right? Trust us, these healthy cookies are worth it… YUMMM! ‘Ok Carlijn, please stop drooling on my t-shirt…’ The good carbs in the banana and oat flakes will give you energy and the chia seeds ensure you get your omega3 fatty acids, very helpful when you’re not a fat fish lover… Tip: eat this cookie before heading to the gym, it gives you that extra power your body would love to have.


  • 2 large bananas
  • 3.5 oz oat flakes
  • 1.75 oz. dried cranberries
  • 0.7 oz. chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons cinamon powder


  • Mash the banana and mix with the oat flakes.
  • Add the chia seeds, cranberries, and cinnamon powder and mix it well.
  • Shape ten little dough balls and lay them on the baking plate covered with greaseproof paper.
  • Use a tableware spoon to press and shape the balls.
  • There you go! They are ready to jump into the oven.
  • Place the cookies in the oven for about 30 minutes at 350 F. Are they still a bit chewy? That’s how they are supposed to be. Delicious, right?

You can count four cookies as one portion carbs.
